Translation

July 29th, 2010

I have no idea what the above says, but I like this design a lot (even if it is kind of a subtle ad for Starbucks). If you can translate, please inform me.

I’ve got nothing else to say, so here’s a couple songs for ya.

Matt & Kim – Daylight

Pursuit of Positively Happiness

May 11th, 2010

This is such a great, classic song, I had to actually upload it instead of finding some YouTube video.

Lucinda Williams – Positively 4th Street

And yes, I love the Lucinda Williams version the bestestest.

I added a Twitter feed and Facebook thingy. I’m sure anyone who reads this, is probably already following me on both, I just.. ya know, I’m bored. Ok? Okay.

Still updating the photos… I think I’m officially addicted to the internet again. It would be more of a certainty than a thinkity if I didn’t have this strong desire to toss my laptop out the window every 15 minutes. These windows don’t have screens, it wouldn’t be all that difficult to do.

Another song that I am majorly obsessed with for a long moment that hasn’t yet passed:

Kid CuDi featuring MGMT & Ratatat – Pursuit of Happiness

A lot of this album (Kid Cudi – Man on the Moon: the end of the day) is pretty catchy, check it out. I don’t think this guy gets the credit he deserves. Although, most of his songs that I love are the ones where he paired up with other artists.

And just for the record.. I like Kid Cudi enough. And MGMT is pretty fantastic, the first album anyway. But in the whole circumference of things mentioned in this post, Ratatat is what really puts a grin on krin. In case you didn’t know that, now you do.

Knowledge is power.

Laundry day

May 9th, 2010

First, happy mom’s day to all the mommies I know. You guys seem to have triplified in the last year.

My mom likes tulips.

Second, I am working on updating my photo-a-days. Not sure if I’ll make it all the way back to December, but I definitely have a mass quantity of photos that I like, and others that are just fillers.

And for now, please enjoy the only Bright Eyes song that I enjoy:

Healthy Eating

August 4th, 2009

Of course, I am a woman. We gain weight by just looking at food. And I sure do like looking at food. But since not working, all I do is sit around all day, applying for jobs. Add to that, since not working, I am completely broke. I basically eat what is available, when it’s there. Healthy food is pretty hard to come by. I’ve probably gained about ten pounds just in the past month. None of my clothes fit comfortably anymore, I don’t sleep well, back always hurts…. All of that yummy goodness that comes with unhealthy living.

A few years ago, I did Weight Watchers for a year or so. I had always been skeptical of it until I watched many people that I personally knew, thin down, while following WW. It’s all about portion control and being a bit more conscious of what is going in your mouth. I lost so much weight. I don’t recall how much in total, but it was noticeable in my face the most. Don’t you hate that double chin crap? Also, I was regular gym goer. So, that didn’t hurt.

Anyway, my point is.. reason number 86 that I love the internet, I googled cheap healthy meal ideas.

That’s it. Send me some ideas.

Oh! Check out my new Photo of the Day thing. Flickr wants to charge me and I said screw them. Also, the gallery is more in my control now.

I changed my mind, new photo a day.

The other night, I went to the beach, stood in the water, and let my feet sink deep down into the muddy sand. Chicago is glorious.

Oops x 2

June 3rd, 2009

Okay, so I tried to completely overhaul my website.  Apparently, I am out of practice because I overwrote my entire database (that’s five? years of posts) in the process.  I’ve been in touch with my hosting company for the past few days, trying to retrieve a backup from their server.  A backup that I should have (and failed to) create myself.  Unfortunately since it’s a new month, their server backups start over and I lost everything.  So, that’s that.

Starting over. It’s a shame, but it won’t be the first time I goofed and lost everything. We’ll all live without my ancient whining posts.  I’ll repost about my recent road trips when I get a chance.

I’ll take this opportunity to plug my host because I’m greatful for their efforts.  I’ve been with them for ten years now, I think.  I’m actually not even sure because they used to be called Aletia.  But anyway, yah, good deal.

Also, I use WordPress for this blog.  Finally updated to a newer version and it’s pretty neat. You really don’t have to know shit about programming to use this.
